Ray Von
Does anyone have any experience of this particular model, how would you rate it? There is a much more expensive Dapol version on the market, so I'm a bit undecided between spoiling myself or being sensible...
Duncan.
Do you want a model that looks like a class 33 with correct bogies, good motor directional lighting... or do you want the Farish one? Here's a photo of my Dapol 33 on shed. It's a no brainer! 2 1
RMweb Premium maq1988 Posted March 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2021 If it's got the older Masterpieces in Miniature branding it's likely to be relatively old, and basic in detail compared to the newer Dapol. Things like DCC compatibility or lighting are also likely to be missing.

RMweb Premium Kris Posted March 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2021 Models of this era are prone to split gears. DCC is possible but not "plug and play".

As others have said above the Farish is prone to split gears and motor burnouts the under frame is not at all realistic. The Dapol is DCC ready too.
