I like the idea of the crossover pushed forwards towards the station for when trains depart platform one they will not be running wrong line through the scenic break. Thanks Shaun I agree. Also when locos arrive for the depot, they go over the crossover and back to the headshunt - It would look wrong if crossover was "off scene" Simon Edited March 23, 2021 by Psiborg
Psiborg
Tracklaying for today meant that I have finished the station tracks. I got less done than expected today because I needed to fit the undertrack uncoupling magnets at the same time. The position of the magnets will allow the uncoupling of two 3 car Class 108s, uncoupling of a Class 108 and 128 DPU (with DPU on either end) or release of a loco, wagon or snowplough etc Cheers Simon Edited April 17, 2022 by Psiborg

Scooby71
The sweeping curved track plan is making it look just like Buxton, and the raised head shunt is also a good attention to detail.

Psiborg
Tracklaying (almost) finished All of the track is in place now. Only the fuel unloading siding needs to be glued down as I am waiting for the last uncoupling magnet to arrive. TMD tracks are now complete... and the layout is looking a bit more "Buxtonlike"... Psiborg
The last track has now been glued down. This means that all scenic trackwork is now in position - there are just the copper-clad sleepers to fit at the board joins before cutting the rails... The copper-clad sleepers at the fiddle-yard board join have been fitted and soldered allowing the fiddle-yard to be removed Cheers Simon Edited April 17, 2022 by Psiborg
Psiborg
Some photos with stock placed around the layout... Class 128 DPU and Class 108 3-car DMU in platform 2... A pair of Class 20s await their turn with the Buxton snowploughs... A view towards the fuel tanks... An overview of the station area... Scooby71
The permanent way looks very good now it’s all down. I’m liking all that BR Blue era stock. Will you be having any locos in Railfreight livery? Cheers Shaun
