Popular Post Cobbydale83
Evening all, First time posting a layout on here..... Cobbydale Quay is my first attempt at a 00 for a good while...... Designed as a small industrial shunting layout with a trackplan based on Canute Road Quay. Still some work to be done but quite liking the atmosphere of the layout already.....
RMweb Gold Andrew D Posted March 27, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 27, 2021 Looking good! I also like the Graham’s Canute Road Quay layout and am also tempted to copy the track plan. A great job you’ve done so far
Cobbydale83
A few more photos of Cobbydale Quay. The P class is waiting to depart with the evening workers train, while the Barclay pauses in its shunting activities.

When I was heavily into outdoor largescale railways I would spend six months straight just building locomotives and rolling stock and the other six months I did not even want to look at a railway item. Cobbydale83
Latest addition to the fleet.....finally got my hands on a small Peckett...
RMweb Gold tractionman Posted August 8, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 8, 2021 Lovely layout this, the use of walls for the edging works really well, giving the impression of elevation. Could you say what the overall dimensions of the layout are? I've a spare six by two and would like to try something similar. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Keith
Cobbydale83
Hi Keith. The layout is about 5.5ft by 1ft.....the scenic section is 4ft long and there is a storage area about 1ft long beyond the loco shed...I used peco loco lifts as cassettes. There is a small hidden siding (fits 1 wagon) the other side of the warehouse opposite the loco fiddle yard.

Thank you very much for the comment. I don't think its too bad for my first foray in 00 for a good number of years.
Cobbydale83
Apologies for the lack of updates recently. To be honest not much as changed with the layout, just been adding little details here and there, like point levers, a few figures and some detritus scattered about. Also I have plucked up the courage to have a go at weathering my stock...the wagons are my first attempts and then I got brave and attacked the blue W4, quite pleased with the results.
Cobbydale83
The green W4 has also had the grubby treatment. Also, a shot of the pair together.
