RMweb Premium ColinK Posted April 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 10, 2021 A tool I find invaluable and inexpensive is the Tamyia metal paint stirrers. Excellent for their designed purpose, but great for many other tasks eg applying tiny amounts of filler, rubbing over 3D printed parts to remove the print lines etc etc
RMweb Premium Torper Posted April 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 10, 2021 It would be interesting to know what the OP thinks of these suggestions. It would also be helpful if we were told what type of modelling he has in mind. DT
bobthemilk
Morning all I try and keep some tapered pipe cleaners at hand , a bit more robust than cotton buds and longer , available from a specialist tobacconist's shop , some newsagents and craft shops where they are multi coloured no less ! regards Bobthemilk
CCarmichael
Thanks very much for the suggestions so far, they have really helped. Most of the tools I have enquired about will be for servicing/modifying locomotives, laying track and electrical work purposes predominantly however it is always worth knowing what is needed if I were to branch out into kit building. Thanks again.
RMweb Gold BoD Posted April 12, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 12, 2021 I find a pack of wooden cocktail sticks and a lump of blu tack the most versatile and wouldn’t be without tools that I own.
