RMweb Gold Kevin Johnson Posted April 6, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2021 I need some help. I have a P class locomotive 5027 in ROD livery era 2. I'm a little stuck on what wagons this loco will have hauled. I'm hoping forum members can help me.
ManofKent
I'd imagine that the ROD would have requisitioned wagons from multiple pre-grouping companies, but SE&CR would probably be my choice to match the locomotives origins.
MarcD
W^D did borrowed stock and bought stock from from a number of sources. The SECR's 7 plk coal wagons were some of the first ones to be borrowed. Others were LYR 1plk and LNWR 1plk. Marc
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted April 6, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2021 Where was it used, Richborough? I'd say a majority of SECR, but fair number from other railways loading to the port for war needs. One or two really old ones for internal port/depot use,
Guy Rixon
If it's in ROD livery, rather than just being an ROD type, is it not more likely seen in France and Belgium? I wasn't aware that the ROD actually operated the trains on British railways, at least outside their own installations.
hmrspaul
Bachmann Parrot warflat is one of the few readily available models of the specialist wagons built for the ROD during WW1. [Not the WW2 version they also do and not the PARROT built during WW2] Paul Edited April 6, 2021 by hmrspaul
