Flittersnoop
In the book "British Railways - In Unseen Colour 1948 - 1962" by Kevin Robertson (Crecy Publishing, 2018), there is a photo on page 10 by R E Vincent of Pullman car SC218M in carmine and cream livery, and on page 45 there is a Pullman car painted blue being used as a camping coach at Heacham, in Norfolk. All Pullman coaches look alike to me, but perhaps someone with more knowledge could ascertain whether either example is one that Hornby has made? Wickham Green too
The 'Scottish' variant of the 'K' type Pullman varied from that modelled by Hornby in having British Standard gangways and screw couplings - and a noticeably different window layout. The Heacham Car could have been 'Montana' an earlier vehicle very similar to Hornby's twelve-wheeled Parlour First - but mounted on four-wheeled 'American' bogies : originally a 'Guard Parlour' Car for the S.E.C.R. .......... IF this is the Car in question, it was moved to Barnwell Junction where it stayed for many years .... .... before preservation at Petworth. ( It gained standard Southern Railway bogies before withdrawal from active service.) Edited April 21, 2022 by Wickham Green too bogies 2
