So the swearing is the common issue! (I've used that too, usually with track........)

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted April 20, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20, 2021 Worsley Works provides etched door droplights for 4 No. doors per coach but there are 12 doors per coach. I made sone more droplights from plasticard and pre-painted them along with the door hinges that I had omitted to fit. The Dapol coach roofs are no longer clipped down and tend to bow upwards at mid-length. To cure this I fixed laminated plasticard to each roof into which a long attachment bolt is tapped. The bolt is a bit too long so a laminated plasticard block was fixed to the chassis underside to accommodate the extra bolt length. Fortunately all is hidden by the side skirts. pat141
Very nice. It's hard to get a roof to sit neatly all round. 1
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted April 20, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20, 2021 Thanks Pat, I have since sanded down and repainted the edges of the roofs as they looked a bit rough in the close-up pics. Dapol use recycled plastic for these coaches and any over sanding tends to induce delamination so you have to sand sparingly. Cheers Darius
kirley
Great to see this set constructed and as usual you are doing a great job on it. I'm surprised you had to make your own side skirts as there should be ones with the kit, there were when I did mine back in 2015.
