enginelane
Has anyone images or the type of Road Tanker that carries the slurry from the Silver Bullets at Spalding to the factory at Kings Lyn?
Fat Controller
There have been some published in either 'Rail Express' or 'Modern Railways' fairly recently. They were fairly undistinguished tank trailers, IIRC.
enginelane
Thanks. Have seen some images of US unloading. I wondered if there was mobile pump unit to help power the unloading

Fat Controller
Don't forget the essential plastic buckets , one for each end of the hose, to protect the product from contamination! A similar system was used to unload resin at Hexham.
enginelane
Thank you. Understand now. It’s not even on a concrete pad and the vegetation is still in place. I thought there may have been some containment structures and it’s a bog standard Road Tanker.
RMweb Gold TravisM Posted April 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2021 I’m not sure if it’s still running at the moment or just suspended during the pandemic. I’m sure someone will know and post some pictures.

No need for any containment measures, as the material is inert. 1

Irvine and Workington are still receiving from Waterloo though (one and two trains per week) so it could be another reason.

It hasn't run since the Stonehaven derailment and subsequent extended line closure. As that was eight months ago, I suspect it's gone for good.
