Twerton siding photos & location

Recommended Posts

This siding was on the Down side of the S&DJR single-line, just over ¾-mile from Bath Junction, almost directly opposite the site of the original Bath Ticket Platform. It's on NLS maps at https://maps.nls.uk/view/106019264 if you look near the bottom of the sheet just left of the middle.

For a photo, see Plate 29 in the relevant Middleton Press volume.

There is an info board next to the twin tunnels path at the location as well. I passed it a few times when running in the twin tunnel race series.

Keith

I shall have to go and take a look sometime then, as I don't remember seeing that....

The siding & coal yard are almost where the 2 tunnels series starts from! Haven't done one since just before lockdown, must have another pop at one, they are well organised and enjoyable events.
