National Fry Up Day.

That looks like a reasonably decent fry up.  I'd add some Hog's Pudding and hope that tiny corner poking out from beneath the eggs is fried not toasted; toast comes on a side-plate if the big one isn't big enough ;)

But that is NOT a pasty :(   At least not where I came from.  Pasties are crimped along the edge never along the top.  West of the Tamar anyrate.

In other news all these pictures are making me hungry.  How long until the Staplegrove Canteen opens? :jester:

I know about the pasty - posted then realised - am I banned?

Probably from Cornwall, yes.  You will be allowed into Callington where the G-compnay makes something they describe using the P-word with a top crimp and including carrots :bad:

Wrong side of the river to be using a top crimp, that's the proper way further east (and the way my grandma always made them), but carrot should never be included. Potato, parsnip, turnip, by all means. If you want carrot, it should be eaten raw (with or without the pasty)...

As we're talking about differences,  following the good

Captain's posta bout breakfast and lunch, I was going to raise the question of afternoon cream teas, but of course,

we'd then get into the realms of Jam or cream first.

I'm pretty certain it was the Wakefield show were we once got an afternoon "snack" on the Sunday plus an offer of sandwiches to take with us for the journey south...!

That's why there's two long tables in the posh dining area; it's not about capacity, it's about separating pasty and scone factions.

In that case you'll need three tables:

One for pasties

One for scones - jam first

One for scones - cream first

We can keep it to two tables

Table 1 - Side crimped + Jam first*

Table 2 - Rest of the World

*I'm with you lot.

Hang on! Where's the side crimped and cream first area?? That's the problem with this forum, just doesn't cater for everybody's (read mine) interests. What's next adverts? :jester:

(Already heading to naughty step:blink:)

On the basis that you're not doing it wholly Kernowish it means you're an outcast from Table 1.

Depending on whom may or may not be assisting with / twisting arms / cajoling / generally nagging you to purchase drinks and hearty snacks etc. it would be cream first (despite whatever any boss might say...) !
