We can keep it to two tables

Table 1 - Side crimped + Jam first*

Table 2 - Rest of the World

*I'm with you lot.

Table 1 - as above.

Table 2 - there is NO table 2. The rest of the world can go without.

Depending on whom may or may not be assisting with / twisting arms / cajoling / generally nagging you to purchase drinks and hearty snacks etc. it would be cream first (despite whatever any boss might say...) !

If someone else is making it I shall not argue. :biggrin_mini2:

An interesting set of factions appearing, given that the pasties to be consumed are not of Cornish origin, and the event itself is not being held in either Cornwall or Devon.

I did resist temptation to simply say "get what you are given, as it will be the 'correct' way" or "if you want jam on the bottom, then turn it upside-down"

Everything past Gordano services is holiday territory. :biggrin_mini2:

Everything past Royal Oak station is Bandit Country. So my mum told me.

Coming from a long line of bandits, I can tell you, it's no holiday living here;)

In that case you'll need three tables:

One for pasties

One for scones - jam first

One for scones - cream first

No No No

please remember Staplegrove is in SOMERSET we do not need to cater for Devonian or Cornish people who get all in a twist about wether  their crimp goes around or over,

Just don't put peas in my pasty like the bakers in Williton do YUCK ! YUCK ! YUCK !

jam or cream first ? Don't care! Just put another scone on top sandwich style so you can turn it over if. Your fussy!

You have it all wrong. See living in the middle of nowhere Lincolnshire any place west of the Trent is abroad.:secret:  As for crossing the Humber in the north it is worse than just abroad it is another continent. :scared:

All this rubbish about scones, jam and cream. If it is served with the jam or cream on top and you like it the other way, turn the scone over, sorted.  :imsohappy:

And as for pasties being crimped on their side or top, flip through 90 degrees, job done. :yahoo:

But remember never ever eat the sweet end of a Bedfordshire Clagger first that is a definite NO NO. :protest:

Yes but, no but ....
That's implying that the scone has a layer of cream, then a layer of jam (or vice versa) then the top half. So it can be inverted. WRONG! Each half needs its own layer of cream and jam, to maximise the amount of cream and jam in use xD

I'm not sure I'd want to eat any end of something bearing that name!

It sounds  like something which would require a swift change of bed sheets  :O

You must have had a sheltered life not to have had a clagger.

They are like a pasty at one end, meat and veg and the other end a jam or apple turn over.

If I've got this right Clive, what you're saying is along the lines of...

Eating is cheating?
