Wrong time period but something with 8 wheels steam heat only used on NE/SW services might be nice...:D

Spams and myself caught up with EL Tel and others from the Stafford team shortly after their visit to the new venue, there is a lot of enthusiasm and excitement from the Stafford team.  Cant wait.

Although not part of the club now I was there with Tel when we made the leap from Western Road School to the showground.  There were some hearts in the mouths then and I know exactly how the team feel now.  It was the right thing then and I very much hope it is the right thing now.

Same Mud in the same car park I am afraid.

Going off on a tangent, and apropos nothing in particular, but ten years ago I did predict the time would come when the show moved into the Bingley Hall...

You may call me Nostradamus now :)

I might be tempted to make a trip over from Wales to visit my first post apocalypse exhibition, subject to the road from the Welsh coast to Stafford being snow free (not always guaranteed in February).  The last exhibition I visited was the Stafford show in the three halls and I thoroughly enjoyed it, busy but not so wedged as the show further down the M6.

Sounds like it should be a good show and good luck with the organisation.

There's always the train albeit an early start

UPDATED 1st October 2021

THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR………

Stafford Railway Circle 2022 Exhibition

5th & 6th February 2022

BINGLEY Hall (New Larger Venue)

Stafford County Showground

Weston Road

Stafford

OPENING TIMES:  SAT 10.00 - 5.00pm - SUN 10.00 - 4.30pm
ADMISSION:  Adults £12.00  Concessions £12.00

We have confirmed our date for 2022 which will be the usual first weekend in February at our normal venue of the County Showground in Stafford. Over the last 10 years or so of utilising the exhibition space at the Showground we have grown the exhibition from using just one of the three halls to the present situation of using all of them. We have been aware that growth in numbers attending has risen considerably, such that it is now time to move into the larger Bingley Hall.

Our biggest ever show with 45 layouts and 35 traders presently booked with more to be added. Our usual demonstrators area and club stands will be present. We are conscious of needing to spread the gangways so that crowding can be alleviated and our extra space (Potentially 60 per cent more!) will enable us to do this. There is a restaurant within the hall situated on the gallery level with a lift available if needed. There could well be a bar as well but this is to be confirmed later. Much larger toilet facilities are available. There will be a free bus service from Stafford Railway station as in the past. Plenty of free parking as well.

Looks a good line-up. What's the child admission price going to be? (I ask, because I will probably be bringing one!)

I’ll get back to you on child admission prices later next  week.

It would look lovely with some pre-nationalisation SR stock running on it too...

I agree but as I had some suitable western region stock that ran in the BR period I decided to run it post -nationalisation

Perhaps when the piggy bank is in a better state a good idea for the future.

My N gauge layout Dawlish Warren will be at Stafford. As things stand it will be the first physical exhibition for this layout but that might change.
I can run this layout as 1959 (at a push) , 1963, 1968 or sometime in the mid to late 1980s. The 1980s stock includes a couple of railtours hauled by well known steam locos. I haven’t decided which year to run at Stafford yet so I’m open to hearing preferences from potential visitors.

I hope Terry won’t mind me posting a little vid featuring a couple of trains from the 1968 stock.
