Guest Jack Benson
OK, not a modeller of the LNER but I have a Chivers pigeon van to build for a ‘48-52 timeframe. Presumably the vehicle should be teak, if so, two questions:- Is there some online guidance to create the teak finish? Who offers suitably lettering for this vehicle for this period? The image below was found on RMweb but I couldn’t find any comment concerning its finish (which is rather nice) StaySafe Edited May 24, 2021 by Jack Benson
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 24, 2021 I would suggest it would still be in unlined teak at this time. Precision do the paint and the work of @MikeTrice might be worth a search. Transfers are on the HMRS sheet.

Thunderforge
There is a Games Workshop brown wash called Agrax Earthshade, and another called Seraphim Sepia, a slightly different hue. I’ve seen people use several thin layers over a light tan to get the desired depth of grime/varnish.
