BP Stromeyer

All,

In N gauge I’m trying to recreate some of the train ferry speedlink consists from my youth.  I’ve recently been offered some Fleischmann BP Stromeyer wagons and I’m sure I can remember these wagons occasionally making it into UK consists. There doesn’t seem to be any photos of Stromeyer wagons on the internet. Did they actually exist in real life please?

Can only remember these BP tanks coming via us at Dover once the Harwich ferry closed.

We got quite an assortment of tanks via the Train Ferry, luckily Paul Bartlett was recording a lot as shown on his site, l was more remiss in catching everyday wagons, preferring to photograph the ships.

The Fleischmann wagons would be too bulky to represent ferry wagons anyway IMO - I used to have the Arnold stromeyer but have never seen any real life evidence!

A link to what you are referring to would be a useful starter to see if they did exist, at least in the diagram books - there are many wagons approved for use on the ferries which probably never came here.
