apt-e
Hello all and welcome to my new thread for Leadley Kits Models. My name is Paul Leadley and I setup and run the APT-E Conservation & Support Group which have been slowly restoring APT-E at Locomotion, Shildon since the year 2000. I have started designing and 3D printing my own PLA+ model kits, mostly of items that you cannot obtain from anywhere else. I specialise in APT (Advanced passenger train) and RTC items. I also offer a bespoke design and printing service, if you need an item and can supply drawings or a collection of photos I can see what I can do for you. Mr Tilt (Kit Spackman) of APT-E and RMweb fame also has input into many of my model designs so they should be pretty close to the real thing. All items are in kit form only. RMweb Gold Adam1701D Posted June 17, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 17, 2021 Great to see the POP train in N Gauge. Seriously tempted, as I've already got the matching Clayton :-) How about APT-E in N, now Revolution have cancelled the RTR version? 1

I would love to have a go at E train and as a proof of concept I have been working on the nose, just so see if it is possible with the tech. Riseburn Simon
This looks very interesting. I live right next door to Shildon, so I've been watching the APT renovations progress. Would you consider doing an LEV1 model? Or the various Pacer protoypes?

apt-e
Hi All, Hope everyone is well. I have been working on a few projects, hence have not posted in a while. I was not going to post about this until its 100% but thought you would like to see progress on PoP 2 00 gauge. Still a number of things to change and finish designing, but I would say its around 90% complete. Paint job is just my quick hack version. Still to do :- handrails on outer ends and underside parts not sure which version I will do for those yet and the draw gear.. Pilot Lab 8 is still the prototype version. The final version will come with far smoother and less pronounced window panel sides, I may also include two smooth panels in case you wish to use those instead. More on the new version of pilot version next week with luck......... Anyone wishing to express an interest, please email me at leadleykits@gmail.com (No commitment as not fixed the price yet but I think it would be around the £105 - £120 mark). Its a "BIG" model................................. Regards Paul

apt-e
Hi All, A few photos of PoP 2 under its first running tests. Train is about 90% complete now. I have to add underfloor detail as yet....... Tests completed all ok. It was the very first run of my Baby Deltic also... A video of the first run can be viewed here... : www.apt-e.org/leadleykits/videos/pop2.wmv The video shows PoP 2 going around radius 1 corners with no problems. I forgot to put silicon grease on the front H4X so sorry about the squeak. Pilot Lab 8 has a bit of a wobble so I am going to fit a larger collar to the pivot points to stop this, apart from that, I am very pleased Regards Paul Edited July 29, 2021 by apt-e
