RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted July 10, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) Had the airbrush out this weekend to spray the lowers of 4 chopped APT-P intermediate coaches so did a test spray with some pink on the TRBS interior. needs more paint, but I’ve run out of white. Looks ok though when the top is on Edited July 10, 2022 by RedgateModels
apt-e
Hi all. Just to say, after a break due to family issues and work, I am back on with finishing off N gauge APT-E. I am looking for powered bogies that can have new sides fitted and at present, I am awaiting some samples of the nose cones and bodywork printed in resin from another company. Will keep you all posted as to progress. Got other models to also to complete. Hope everyone is well. Regards Paul. What powered chassis are you designing this around?? Regards Neal. Hi Neal, I am trying to find some bogies around 23mm axel spacing so that the ET bogie side can fitted. Class 33 is the closest so far, any suggestions anyone? Edited February 25, 2023 by apt-e
Mr_Tilt
Class 33 bogies were the ones I used on my scratchbuilt N gauge E-Train that you've seen before Paul. It was the old Minitrix one in my case, but there are better ones about these days.
apt-e
Thanks Mr Tilt. I sort of remember you saying that's what you used, but I was not sure until I did a bit of measuring.
apt-e
Hi all, Been re-jigging the N APT-E model design. New powercars coming on, and have found a company that does great resign print, so will be interesting to see what they make of the latest version. In the meantime :- Best wishes. natterjack
Hi PauL Just a question on the depiction of the nose lamps, 'cos as you will know they are recessed to a flat base? Practicality?

Practicality? Hi, the nose is not finished in any shape or form. I am trying to get working lights into the design, Several option open, but at present, on the real printed model, this looks the best. All still very much in prototype. apt-e
Hi everyone, who is still following me. I am getting back on with N gauge APT-e after a long break, again, sorry. I am looking for powered bogies to fit into the powercars. Not sure if motor mounted on bogies or via a drive shaft. Still got , Lev 1, Testrol and maglev to complete. Best wishes everyone. Paul.
Mr_Tilt
I used a Minitrix Class 33 motor/bogie on that one I did waaaay back Paul. There are bound to be better ones available now, but I think the wheelbase of a 33 is about right.
