RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted July 20, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 20, 2021 That looks very convincing Al, great modelling and colouring. Nice light and shadow effect too, was it photographed outside?
mullie
For the farm sheds I grew up exploring that is far too tidy! Great modelling as usual. Martyn

Ruston
There's some good shedology going on here. I think this one, for the shunter/tippler operator, at Royd Hall, is more a cabin than a shed.
RMweb Premium Moxy Posted July 22, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 22, 2021 (edited) A couple from my archives. This one from 2016 is (or rather was) a Wills 4mm scale SS50 platelayers hut. I cut it down to 3mm scale for a layout which has not yet been built. I seem to remember reducing the size of the door, the height of the hut, and shortening the length as well. I left the window unchanged. A small window in a larger scale becomes a larger window in a smaller scale. I think I also reduced the chimney by 3 or 4 courses of bricks. I was going to rephotograph it with a coin to show the reduced proportions, but although I have that photo, I can't find the actual hut at the moment. This one is the Scalescenes Goods Store they used to offer as a free download. Again it's 3mm scale I think the original kit came with a wooden frame, but I have substituted a brick base, and replaced the felt roof with corrugated iron (Slaters, I think). Once again, I only have the photo at the moment, the actual model is missing in action (or more likely in a box I haven't looked in yet.) RMweb Gold BMS Posted July 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 24, 2021 There got to be scope for a competition for "Shed of the year" - two categories real and model.
mike morley
How about remnants of sheds? Former platelayers hut (I assume). Mid Wales Railway, south of Pant y Dwr. I admire the imagination of whoever thought of using it as a signpost. 7
MrWolf
Now that you have posted that one, I think that I can get away with posting this. Presumably they were wooden cabins that have been burnt down since the railway closed.

mike morley
Both off the A470, north of Dolgellau. I think that's a Nissen hut hiding amongst all that foliage. It occurs to me that doing something similar could be a way of making use of a model that hasn't turned out too well but took too much time and effort for you to be willing to throw it away.
RMweb Gold JustinDean Posted July 31, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 31, 2021 Spotted this and thought of the wriggly tin lovers on here. Also could possibly be classified as a ‘shed’. Jay 1

RMweb Gold Rowsley17D Posted January 24, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 24, 2022 These guys look as though they will take out all the fun from weathering your own corrugated sheets. https://www.goodwoodscenics.co.uk/corrugated-metal
MrWolf
That's very interesting stuff and a good starting point for rusty sheeting. But it won't stop you having to do some weathering relevant to the building being modelled and where it's located. Fear not, individuality will always win out when it comes to a bit of entropy!
