JST
As I had one of these kicking about I decided to see if it work work OK on DCC. I bought a CD motor conversion kit from Strathpeffer Junction ( I am just a customer and have no other links) and I have to say I am staggered by the results. It was always going to be a budget conversion given the age of the unit so I bought a cheap 4 function Lias decoder (I am usually a Zimo user) and a Lais stay alive. The pick ups on the Lima are dodgy at the best of times so I decided a stay alive was the obvious answer. I did however, solder a wire to the brass pick up on the non powered bogie to get round the awful clip contact arrangement on the bogie pin. There is a comprehensive video on the Strathpeffer website on how to fit their kit and it was very straightforward. Here is a short video of the outcome. Sorry about the quality... done on my phone! cravensdmufan
Excellent! Thanks for posting. I have a Lima 121 in my drawer and think I may do likewise.
