MRC_Jacob
Hi all, Bought a air brush and some paints as wanted to go and try weathering. With the aid of Marcus over at Gowerton Parkway and Matty Midland I went and tried it on some wagons. Eventually (Yesterday!) even a 66. Here's my attempts, any commnts welcome! rob D2
Looks pretty good but what happened to the light clusters on the 66 ?

Nothing happened with them, forgot to mask them off! Cleaned them off after this photo was taken
MRC_Jacob
Another weathering job done, 67024. Normal stuff done with this one, brake dust/weathered black for the chassis, weathered black for the roof, greasy buffers and even a bird strike on the front. RMweb Premium ColinK Posted August 20, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 20, 2021 Well done, especially for the light weathering on the locos - far harder to do that heavy weathering. I like the insides of the wagons too.

MRC_Jacob
Some more weathering attempts. Hornby EWS 60081 "IKB" Bachmann 37412 "Driver John Elliot" Bachmann EWS inspection saloon Hattons RHTT set All different weathering with the saloon being the lightest! They were kept rather clean in real life! Any comments welcome!
reggie
Great job on the weathering! I've just started to weather some of my stock, can I ask what paints you used? Colours, etc? Thanks
RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted October 27, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 27, 2021 I've just stumbled across this thread. Weathering can be one of the most subjective parts of our hobby but I think what you've done is both well done and fits with my take on how weathered stock for a layout should look. I've just acquired some RHTT wagons - should be an interesting weathering project - when I get round to it.. I'm filing reference pictures at the moment.. I also very much like your 60....
