Methuselah
I'm after any drawings for a GWR level crossing for a single line with wooden gates and posts - not the cast-iron post type. Any info' gratefully received.
WillCav
There's a drawing of a single line LX gate and posts on p203 of David J Smith's GWR Signalling Practice. Not sure if it is an all wood example though - if forced to guess, I would say wooden gate on metal post. It might be useful for rough dimensions if nothing else. mike morley
In the old 'Ericplans' book, published by Peco, there was a drawing of Dunster level crossing. It's a bit basic, but there should be enough there to make an acceptable model.
KingEdwardII
You might like to contact the Great Western Society at Didcot - they have a museum and archive with all kinds of GWR material and they might have drawings of the kind you're looking for: https://didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk/article.php/408/great-western-trust-museum-archive - there is an email link on that page that you can use to contact them. The GWS actually has a preserved level crossing with wooden gates on the branch line at Didcot, but I think the posts are metal. Yours, Mike.
