Popular Post Andrew P
Finally abandoned after 8 Months, now working on Trewithen. CHANGE OF PLAN! NSE / SWT / EMU's / DEMU's / DMU's from Page 58, See Video No 28 it explains it all, https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/166333-bute-road-a-route-through-the-south-coast/page/57/ THE ORIGINAL OPENING BEFORE UP DATE 29/10/2021. So I've decided to start the New Project thread early. The actual Layout build wont start until next week with base board building. In the Short Video you will see some of the planning and ideas behind the project. Having Sold both of my 7mm Layouts, Seven Mills Sidings and Bench Road and all the O Gauge Stock bar a Blue 33, which will eventually get sold, it is time to move forward. This NEW project has been boiling away in the back of my mind since moving Souf in May 2020, and having less room than my previous abode, and also having nowhere to expand the O Gauge any further, the desire for a continuous run in OO was to big a lure to ignore. Bute Road will be a Roundy, in OO Gauge in my 15ft x 7ft POD / The Pit of Doom / it has no windows. The location will be Cornwall as given away somewhat by the title, and the period will be from 2000 to today. Here is a map of the area from the wonderful book, Cornish China Clay Trains, by Maurice Dart, and although this book does not come as far as my period, it does give some wonderful images and inspirations for the area to be modelled. So located on the line from Par to Newquay, which means short / poss Class 153 or 158 Passenger Trains, and LOADS OF Freight. Andrew P
Just had a very useful PM from Paul. 5BarVT 2,961 Started conversation: 9 minutes ago Hi Andy, Not sure if it’s a writing error or a sums error, but one of your cut lists showed 5’6” plus 3’6” out of an 8’ side. It’s 9’ so you’ll be 1’ short. Paul. My reply. Cheers Paul, Thanks for pointing that out, I'll have a look in the morning, When I did it last week I worked it out at 2ft 6 inches, but when I drew it, I thought, wow I've got another ft here. Doohhh. So, you see, even a genius can make the odd mistake. Edited August 8, 2021 by Andrew P 7
RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted August 8, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 8, 2021 Good to see you're underway, Andy. The "door section" you referred to in the PM now makes a lot of sense. One thing that grabs my attention is the "Virtual" Quarry - does this mean it's not really there? Sorry, I'm being a bit flippant, I think I can see your intention! You'll sleep happier now, knowing that the project has now officially started. Good stuff. Jeff 3

In the time I've built 3 layouts on this Forum, Andy must have built-completed-sold.....at least a dozen. Hang on, Bute Road's finished? Bute Road II starts tomorrow? Phew!
LBRJ
Interesting stuff indeed! The proposed location is about half way between my old back garden and my mates current demesne, so it does have some local interest to me! 1
