I agree with you about the terminal blocks I have been using them for some time they come in different current ratings too.  Having curves through the turnout does look more natural that's why I gave up using the paper templates for home built turnouts. Nowadays it is easy to do them in templot but for speed just using bits of flexi track work out what you need. I would measure the crossing angle then look up the lead (distance from the crossing to the blade tips ) in a prototype table and measure that round the curve. Which is what a track ganger would do using a chain instead of a ruler.

Going well mate

Don

I see where your coming from Don with hand built Track, that make a lot of sense, and sounds fairly simple to do.

Cheers for your input.:good:

This evening I fitted the Point Motors to the two Points leading to Yard, but had to shorten each Point by 5mm to fit them both onto the one board.

Now I'm playing with some bits of Track to see what configuration will look the best. I'll have another play with that over the weekend it, then wire all the Points, soon be time for a Control Panel I think.

Me or the Track?

You of course, after all you are in shape. Well join up a series of curves and you end up with something round and round is a shape.

Just been outside for a shuffle about with the Tracks to get some other ideas, and what I'm looking for is something similar to Kingsmill.

Plenty to think about over the coming weeks because I can do the Track feeds and worry about how they end up in a later life.

Hi Andy, I’ve been catching up with your videos (which I think are great) including your latest No.8.
I see that you have used your 66 and Cargowaggon as the longest vehicles to run through the platforms.  Do you not fancy using Mk3 stock or XC Voyagers, these were used during the summer months before COVID 19 turned the world upside down.

For what its worth Andy I think somewhere between pics 4 & 5 would look best. There’s something about 3 sidings running alongside each other without a bend or deviation that makes them look longer particularly when they just have 2 or 3 wagons left standing around.

Hi Nigel, No, There will be very little Passenger Service / Stock running, possibly a 153 or 150 and that will be about it, its really all about freight, and Locos for me. I think with the curves I've had to have through the Station and at the opposite end that's not yet built, the Mk3's would look very long.

I must admit, it is a nice idea though.

Cheers.

I'm off to the Watercress Line shortly for a few hours at their 50's weekend, I hope to get some pics and Video so will post on here in due course.

Never know, I might come home and sell all my Diezziellies and get a fleet of Kettles, :o Q1, S15, N, Bulleids?:fie::banghead::P

The best bits from this morning.

I may try and put a Video together but its only the two Locos arriving and one departing, I'll have to see if its worth it after the editing.

In the meantime, the best bit was the coffee.:good:

I have put a Video together from this morning at the Mid Hants, but I'm afraid I won't be publishing it, its 7 minutes mainly of me showing the Camp site and Chalets, and less than 3 minutes of Steam action, and then me having a little grumble to camera at the  end, which is probably un fair on the Line and organisers who need people there over the weekend and future events.

Sounds more like you were house hunting rather than seeing a 1950's steaming event........
