My friend has a K's L.M.S ex C.R , 0 4-4 Standard Passenger Tank from K's in Shepherds Bush WC12.

Is K's the same as Keyser ?

I can't remember them making one of those. The address seems right though. Uxbridge Road.

K's was N&KC Keyser.

Keyser is a Germanic name and tends to be Jewish I believe - they may have preferred to be called K's because of historic anti-German or anti-Semitic attitudes prevailing in the UK at the time?

Origin is believe the same as Kaiser, from Caesar meaning emperor.

They had Keyser written in big letters on the boxes. :prankster:

Who is Keyser Soze?

I want to watch The Usual Suspects now, for those that don't get the film reference.

I thought the anti German attitude was from the 1st world war, plus seemingly immigrants from various countries have in the past altered their names.

The earliest box I have (Uxbridge Rd Shepherds bush) mentions K's Precision Model Engineers

Tubs Road, Willesden box changed to K's Kits, but mentions N.C Keyser

Banbury labels similar mentioning

I think its just the marketing fashions of the time, model engineers in the late 50's early 60's then just model kits
