dasatcopthorne
Hi Guys. I am trying to fix the above for a friend. First I found the a component on the Blanking Plug had blown and Gaugemaster have supplied a new Motherboard and blanking plate. On fitting these I find the lights all work as they should but I have no movement. Can anyone help me to get to the motor so I can test this with direct connections please? Dave. RMweb Premium Izzy Posted August 13, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 13, 2021 If this is anything like my W&M version - and I think they are all basically the same - then you have to strip them right down to get to it. IIRC the motor is sandwiched between two halves of the chassis. I’d double check the other bits again if you can before having to do this. The wiring runs are, well, interesting, tucked everywhere in the top casting so you have to be very careful, and especially to get in all back together. You’ll understand how I know this……..
RMweb Premium Izzy Posted August 13, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) found a few shots that might assist if you have to do a stripdown. Haven't got any of it completely in bits, can't have taken any. But the last shot here shows the four screws that separate the halves. The wheels & gears of course drop out from the bottom. It is the motor that is the **** to get to! Edited April 3, 2022 by Izzy

Ben Alder
There was a thread on this some years ago that illustrated the problematic design of this range of models. I thought I had it saved but apparently not.
