Some of you might know the Hornby France No 4-E locomotive which was a "model" of the only NORD railway of France streamlined Super Pacific (number 3.1280).

According to the books (Clive Lamming and Chris Graebe) a brown version was made by Hornmby France from 1939 to 1954 and a green version from 1939 to 1940, so the green version is much rarer. As far as I know the real locomotive was never green; it was however painted blue in 1938 for a short period for the highly successful visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to strengthen Anglo-French relations as Europe stood on the brink of war.

Using spray paint cans, self designed decals and letters and figures from a FOX transfer sheet I have made this version:

By the way: I still have the brown version; I found an extra E-4 with some rust and paint damage which I used for this project.

Regards

Fred
