Unfortunately the description doesn't mention the former Midland Railway shed at Worcester, 
OK, title is western region etc., but a brief review may have been useful.
It of course may well be in the book, but I don't have a copy.
This is a copy I traced from a 1:500 O.S Map back in the 1960's.

Quite a common practice on joint lines although it could lead to personal problems in later years as staff found themselves on different pension conditions when they retired and those who hadn't joined the 'right' company found they were not getting any pension at all.
