The Exmoor Coast Railway Modellers will be holding a mini-exhibition/open day on Saturday 30th October at their club room from 10.30 to 3.00pm.

The address is: Sainsbury Community Hall, Sainsbury Road, Minehead, Somerset, TA24 8JZ.

We have used the title in recognition of the help and assistance that several like-minded modellers have given us over the last 10 years. We are a small group and are very grateful for everyone's kindness and help in putting on our annual show, EXMOOR RAIL, over this time.  We would also like to thank everyone who is helping us with this event.

We hope to have around 7 layouts, a couple of trade stands, plus a demo and displays. Two of the layouts have never been seen in public before and a further layout has never been seen in the West Country before. Our club layout, Bigbury Bay, has never been shown before, and although a work in progress, we hope people will find it interesting.

There will be light refreshments and free parking is available right outside.

We are very hopeful of the event going ahead but of course it is subject to prevailing conditions at the time. It may therefore prove necessary to double check before travelling from a distance.

Best wishes to all

Hi everyone

Here are a couple of pics of our club's layout project - Bigbury Bay - that will be appearing at our forthcoming mini-exhibition/open day on Saturday 30th October. As will be seen this is an unfinished layout, but hope that you will see the potential when it's finished.

Best to all,

Our esteemed Treasurer will be offering a display on different pieces of track to show scale relationship. Also, a selection of rolling stock of similar prototypes in different scales.

He will also be doing some detailing of of G scale stock, i.e. fitting passengers etc, plus construction of kit bashed coaches. And there may be some Metcalfe kits under construction as well.

It shows he's not always counting the money.........

Now just 1 week to go! So far, so good - fingers crossed.......

We will have a Club sales stand overflowing with goodies.... DCC chipped locos, coaches, wagons, buildings, Dinky items, and a host of Hornby Dublo sets, locos, wagons, buildings, track etc. The problem rises, will our sales tables be large enough??? A good problem to have....

Best to all,

Looking forward to the day out - boy hasn't it been a long time!

Just need to get Orchard Road packed up and charging the phones to operate the layout.

Also have a box full of 3D printed goodies - bring your cash, but will also have a card reader.

I'm off to an 80th birthday party thing in Gosport (no, really...) and so won't be able to come down, but I hope you all get lots of visitors and have a really good time, I'm sure you will!

Great to see things starting up again, let's hope this is the beginning of the end, or something like that....:o

Many thanks once again Richard for your support, and it was really good to see you and the 'lads' again after all this time. Let's hope it's not too long before we see each other again.

Also, it was good to meet George (Gedward of this parish) at last and have a good chinwag, sharing thoughts and information. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

In addition we thank all of the people who came through the door and provided a really successful and friendly day. It was an excellent atmosphere and went better than we hoped.

Best to all
