4L02 derailment between March and Whittlesea

Apparently the crossing involved in the collision was this one:

Good news is that loco and tractor drivers are OK

"This morning 66754 has hit a tractor around 3 Horse Shoes, Kisby LC,  3 wagons derailed, only minor injuries fortunately"

Not a good day around here, the Brecklands and (North of Haughley) GEML are both shut due to people being hit by trains.

 

Edit - possibly one location around Trowse which would affect both lines.

There's a fair amount of damage to track, signals and other equipment at Kibseys so its looking like Monday for reopening.

From internal industry reports I understand it was in the vicinity of Trowse swing bridge.

Peterborough - March now down to reopen on Tuesday am.

 

Seems to be a case of misreading signals, miniature red/greens apply to tractors and that big green light on a stick applies to trains ...
