The Border Reiver
I am trying to identify this loco, look like a converted 9F. Anyone any idea? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-58271871

Steamport Southport
Count the wheels.... But I think they used the NYMR 9F for filming the train sequences. Also used in the new Indiana Jones film. The 9F, not the model. Edited August 21, 2021 by Steamport Southport
Pacific231G
Agreed and slightly "Continentalised". So far as I can see they've simply stuck a plate to the sides covering the tops of the drivers as a sort of splasher and added some plates. We may find they used a real 9F- slightly tarted up- in other scenes. The bridge looks like it may be based on the Garabit viaduct in France, the bridge used live and detroyed in model form in that ghastly (not even bad enough to be good) film the "Cassandra Crossing" It might though be one of those civil engineering structures whose sole purpose is to plunge trains to their doom from a great height. Look out for the distinctively British signals when the film comes out. Ready when you are Mr. de Mille. Paul.Uni
This the fifth thread on the MI7 film that I am aware of. It was a prop built for the film based on a Britannia. Edited August 21, 2021 by Paul.Uni
