RMweb Premium Izzy Posted September 9, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 9, 2021 Most probably an issue with the wires and connection between the loco & tender I would think. A wire broken etc.
smokebox
How do you know the motor still works? When you tried it on straight dc, did you fit a DCC blanking plug in place of the decoder? Edited September 9, 2021 by smokebox Typo
Going Spare
If the motor still runs and by "stopped working" you mean it stopped moving, there is probably a failure with the drive shaft or the gearing. Can you rotate the driving wheels by hand? You should not be able to do so, so that would tend to confirm a drive fault. The exploded diagram on Service Sheet 413 shows the shaft and gears. cypherman
Hi, Have you checked for mazak rot on the motor brackets and chassis. Also as stated above you need a blanking chip to get the engine to run on DC. Unless you disconnect the motor completely from the dcc chip and wiring.
