First class yellow stripe on maroon or crimson non corridors

Just reading "Modern branch line album" by John Vaughan and found a piccie dated 22 August 1964 of 84008  at Seaton on a Seaton - Stamford train. The train is formed of LMS maroon non corridor stock, both in BR lined maroon. A composite and a brake third, the composite have a yellow can trail stripe indicating the first class compartments. Don't recall ever seeing photographs of such stripes in non corridor stock. Was it rare ?

Loco-hauled non-gangwayed stock was getting thin on the ground by the time cantrail stripes were introduced.

The problem is most non corridor stock was being withdrawn at the time the yellow stripe appeared so many never got them.

 

One to look out for is the BR Mark One Subs that were still in use around London. They definitely had them.
