anyone for when the last whizzo worked a freight on the mainline ?

D1015 worked revenue earning freight for EWS working off St Blazey in late August 2002 and then again, albeit moving stored wagons in October(?) 2009 for Colas Rail.

Not sure if there’s been any since…

Didn't it do something for GBRF on the MML more recently?  I seem to recall seeing it on a rake of aggregate boxes at Finedon Road - something to with TfL work rings a faint bell.

Just looked it up - November 2013.

*edited to note - 2013 is not that recent!  How time flies...

Now that is one working I don’t recall. More than happy to be corrected.

What great knowledge our members have.

Sadly the test run wasn't without incident. D1015 has suffered a seized engine and has been replaced on next week's tour to Kingswear by 50007 and 50049.

Oh no that’s not good! What a shame….

Bow Locks.  Poor DTG.  I hope it's not a catastrophic engine failure after all the work they've put in to get Champion running again.

How gutting.

I hope '15 is feeling better.  This is a good example of what a diesel hydraulic is capable of - as long as the wheels don't slip!

I'm sorry about the discordant wailing noise at the beginning.  Apparently its caused by some sort of torture device?

and this is what happens when they do slip... oops
