Best Caledonian sleeper route?

I don't know which category this would fall under so I put it here. 

 

I want to know which Caledonian sleeper is the most scenic, because I i want to take the Caledonian sleeper and also want to model a section of line it runs on eventually. 

 

So I want to know which route is the most scenic, i suspect its gonna be one of the Highland routes.

It's about the prototype railway, in the UK and it's a question. Guess where I've moved it to?

Once you get past Lancaster it's all pretty scenic, depends on the sort scenery you want, Cumbria and the borders region is very mountainous and scenic, not just once you get north of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

 

What sort of railway do you want to model probably narrows it down more - single or double line, electrified or not.

Not very scenic if its dark and you're fast asleep !

If I was doing it, I'd probably do the least scenic in the sleeper and the prettier one in daylight!

Depends on the time of the year, high summer and you've daylight from 4:30am and it goes dark late as well, do it in winter and you'll see nowt but your own reflection in the window.

I took the sleeper to from London to Fort William at Easter three years ago. Sunrise over Gare Loch was fabulous as was the rest of the trip! Recommended! (Though it was in a lovely, if careworn, mark III.)

Must do that side of the country, myself before too long - but meantime, I'll put in a vote for the Inverness run that I did five years ago this month : no sunrise over Gare Loch, of course - but fantastic scenery here too. ( I got a better view of the scenery later that day as I back-tracked to Edinburgh on a 158 .)

All 3 of the highland routes are pretty scenic, but if it's the scenery you're really interested in, a daytime service is probably a better bet, especially in winter. Even in summer, you aren't going to get any daylight before Edinburgh on the down service.

I want to do a pretty scenic but The longest to get my money's worth.

Single Scottish highlands line.

A nice bit of moorland with a distant loch and a range of Munros on the backscene  -  and few of us would be able to tell which line you were calling your layout today !
