RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted December 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2021 I couldn’t resist one of the Rokuhan Shorty Shinkansen Bullet Train sets and inspired by the classic Mt Fuji Shinkansen photos I came up with this. A cheap simulated bamboo box off Amazon conceals the battery box. I cut a hole in the bottom for the switch access. Mt Fuji was cut from foam with a hotwire. Painted with a sticky mix of plaster and black paint. The snow was a more soupy mix to get it to bulge over a bit. It was painted white with emulsion . . and a bit of dry brushing on the grey. The base is a bit of 3mm mdf cut to fit the top of the box. 6

298
Sweet! Is there a drawing online that shows the dimensions for the Z Shorty chassis? I wouldn't mind having a go at a Shorty Soller train my modifying my 3d drawings.... Edited December 31, 2021 by

I don’t know if one but on the motored version that inset top stands 3mm taller than the dummy chassis so if you want to give it a go I can pop the dummy in the post to you and just add that raised bit and mirror the box end. pm me your address and I’ll post it next week Andy.
298
PM sent. I can now see how necessary it'd be to work from one directly, due to the body locating clips.
