We end our Christmas cracker updates with a surprise - even for us!!

Today we received photos of Engineering Samples of not one, not two but FOUR unannounced projects! These will be on their way to the UK for evaluation in the next few days and we can’t wait to see them.

We’re not going to spoil it by telling you what they are - but we would love to know your guesses!

Happy Christmas!

.

Trying to keep on subject (!)

1:  Class 124 Trans-Pennine unit (6-car)  -  In keeping with Rapido's liking for multiple units.  Looks very pretty in either green or blue & grey.

2:   A bus ???   How about a first class rendition of a Bristol Lodekka ?

And wagons ?

3:  Something modern, and odd

4:  Something, old and odd - how about decent RCH mineral wagon, suitable to go with the pre-grouping locos being produced ?

Anyway  -  good luck to Rapido, I hope these make them money.

Bound to be a BR standard banana vans amongst them as I have just built 9!

On a similar vein how about the humble LMS 5 plank D1666 /7 wagon that were built in 1000s.

As there's going to be four announced, knowing Rapido, one will be way, way left field, one will be something Jason likes, one will be mainstream and the last one will something we've all been asking for, for ages.

I know,

A shunting horse and jockey.

A Midland railway single horse dray.

A stable block.

A set of grooms mucking out the stables.

Equine excrement Mr M ? ;)

Being sensible about this I think it's reasonable to conclude that -

one item will be a 'bus;

one will be a loco (smallish, with inside valvegear otherwise Jason will be pulling out even more hair over the cost of adding outside valvegear; if Biill has anything to do with it it will be GWR; or a Class O Peckett if Andy is choosing;

one will be along lived Pre-Group wagon. (an SER brakevan perhaps. or possibly an LMS 12 ton van);

the other will be very left field and might be something related to a specialised traffic such as milk or an NPCCS vehicle witha bit of special history linked to it.

On the other hand there might be something so far left field as to be rated as 'unusual' such as some sort of infernal combustion or electreacle powered machine.  But let's not forget that Brighton 'Terriers' seem to have a cult following on the part of manufacturers.
