4mm Scale 0-6-0 Chassis Kits with an 8' + 8' 6" wheelbase

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I'm looking for chassis kits with the above wheelbase, to assess which is the most suitable to put under a LSWR 0395 Class. I know the Comet 4F chassis would do the job, but if anyone knows of any others, I'd be very grateful if you could let me know, please.

Kind regards,

Mark

I used a Comet 4F chassis, to go under an old DJH whitemetal body kit, which I started for Jack Benson of this forum.

The Comet chassis needed some modification to the shape of the frames, to fit the 0395 body.

Here are some photos, the first one shows one frame after modification and the other beforehand:

London Road Models also supply the chassis from their Jinty as a separate kit. How easily it can be adapted I don't know. It will have half etched guides for cutting out the bearing holes to fit hornblocks if required but not the coil spring mounts and cutouts above them as shown on the Comet chassis.
