RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted November 6, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 6, 2019 Our evening picture in which nothing is happening is taken looking down to Crescent Bridge. The trial backscene has been removed, as I am pursuing another idea. It would be very unusual to see no movement at all under the bridge, and sure enough it isn't long before the Yorkshire Pullman comes into view. Today I have been vindicated, and it didn't hurt at all. 34
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted November 7, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 7, 2019 Yet again, pouring rain, water everywhere, golf course closed, and lights on all day. To cheer ourselves up, a close up of a very shiny A4. and a look round the back of the bridge. 31 1
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted November 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2019 Sorry about your wet day, Gilbert. Bright and sunny as I cross Northern France at 186 mph. And I’ve just finished the second complimentary quarter bottle of wine. I’ve no doubt London will feel different. Hic. 2

Depends where you call the North, but it chucked it down at Spalding at the weekend and when I got back to Teesside there were roads closed by flooding all over the place. 1

Ah so. I shall add then, how many: 1. arrogant business types are being aggressive towards the crew?; 2. people have two huge suitcases and insist they keep them on the floor next to them?; 3. 'new moneys' wearing red braces, are hogging the blinds and keep pulling them down so you cant see out of your window? Pah!

The lovely part of Lincolnshire in which you are so privileged to live, has, statistically one of the lowest annual rainfalls in the country. It's just that you happen to be getting a lot of it at once. My Dad was a drainage engineer, so I know that, you see. 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted November 8, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 8, 2019 For some time, one of our photographers has been eyeing the platforms of the signal gantries as a safe way of getting up higher, without having to take quite a long hike to get to Spital Brdige. In the end, he decided to ask for permission, and somewhat to his surprise it was granted. Meanwhile, someone else had managed to get up onto the roof.

Nearly right, Clive. Except that only the most senior managers got a gold pass, mine is merely silver. The difference is minimal in effect, but there are a handful of very busy trains I may not join - and in theory the gold pass entitles the bearer (and his lady) to a free sleeper berth (each!) And as usual, my IEP was just the job. Comfy enough, regular offers of tea etc, waiting time here and there. Back to PN, now chaps.
