RMweb Premium Metropolitan H Posted May 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2020 For me it has to be the Metropolitan Railway class K - later (from 1937) LNER class L2 - closely followed by the BR Riddles Class 4 tank and the - much maligned - SR River Class (the problem was as much. if not more, to do with the poor track bed than the loco design). RMweb Premium 31A Posted May 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2020 Another vote for the BR Class 4 2-6-4T. The curvature of the tanks and bunker makes them look almost semi streamlined. 1

RMweb Premium great northern Posted May 15, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2020 A start has been made on sucking up sludge, but it is quite a big pond, and the novelty wore off before it was half done. More tomorrow, maybe. With our afternoon refreshment today, we have B1 61282, returning from London with the 5.52 from KX.

I did, but chose the 6th type in the Fowler/Stanier/Fairburn/Riddles class 4 2-6-4Ts, the LMS/NCC class WT. Now if the LMS had made 2-6-0 versions of the class 4 tanks then wouldn't have they been great, just like the W class 2-6-0s were.

manna
G'Day Folks As a model, I like the Thompson L1, but as a full sized loco, well the less said the better. The BR 4MT is a pretty good balanced design, which gets my vote. manna
