Paul Hello Paul and everyone Sorry for slight delay in coming back on this item... A Poll Team colleague had to dispose of some kit-built locos for the wife of a deceased friend recently. One was a J20 which came to me. It goes round 2nd radius curves with consummate ease so - I would guess - a manufacturer would be able to make a RTR version do the same. Brian & Chris (Note: These are ‘informal Polls for fun’ on Gilbert’s thread only and neither The 00 Wishlist Poll Team nor RMweb are specifically involved, apart from Chris and me in a ‘personal capacity’.) Hi Brian, My votes as follows: 0-6-0T 2 GER J67/J68/J69 (68491-68666) 0-6-0 7 LNER J39 (64700-64988) 13 LNER K2 2-6-0 My votes are a little limited, on the basis of your criteria of what I would realistically buy. Unlike the J52, the J69s were quite widespread - I believe they were regarded as a 'standard' LNER engine for shunting duties, eg Trafford Park shed Manchester for shunting ex-CLC goods yards J39 similarly, unlike the others which were more parochial K2?(!) Or is that going to feature in the 1st passenger poll? (in which case I withdraw my comment, other than to highlight the Scottish K2s (the 'Lochs') which again have greater appeal as there were seen outside their native GNR territory. Also seen on ex-GER lines, I understand.)

Simon There's a picture of one at work in the goods yard alongside the station in one of the Foxline books ... but I think it's LNER era. But - hey - it's close enough. I'd buy one RTR for that reason alone.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted July 14, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 14, 2021 Time once again for the 1130 FO Peterborough-Edinburgh, a job for one of New England's A2s. I don't know how far the loco would go on this diagram. Further than Doncaster, surely, maybe York, or even possibly as far as Newcastle? Anyway, here is Sun Castle at Platform 6. Not Hornby, of course, this is a Tim conversion from some years back, at a time when we never thought we would see an RTR A2/3.

Woodcock29
Brian my votes are for: 2 - I've long thought we'd get a J69 given the member in the National Collection, their longevity and wide useage. 3 - definitely the missing ex GN loco. Although I have one running and two more to build I would buy a RTR version 8 - a missing ex NE loco which I think would be quite popular. . However, I wouldn't buy a P1 as there were only 2 and I've already got one Crownline conversion I built almost 30 years ago - definitely one of my favourites.
