Edinburgh Junction
Cheshire Railway Modellers are having their 3rd exhibition at their normal venue, which is the Crewe Heritage Centre on Sunday, 24th January 2010. The exhibition, which is always well attended, will raise money for St Luke's Hospice at Winsford as well as The Crewe Heritage Centre. There are expected to be around 20 layouts attending, and the layouts range from British, to Overseas, plus trade stands. Fares are ??4 for adults, and ??3 for the kids, or seniors. There is also a bargain family ticket at ??10 which will admit two adults and up to three children. Ursa Major
Yea.... UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LAYOUTS HAVE BEEN UPDATED, ALONG WITH THE FLOORPLAN. The floorplan as shown on the Cheshire Railway Modellers forum is a work in progress drawing. As Edinburgh Junction rightly says it has been updated since the one shown above was posted and now shows the stands in (more or less) numerical order. I believe Bob was working on spatial units of 6x2 for the original drawing with the stands numbered accordingly, 6x2 corresponding to the size of the trestle tables used at the show for trade stands and exhibits which are not self supporting. The plan is still subject to some speculation because the venue's owners (Cheshire East Council) have handed over a lot of the museum floorspace to Pete Waterman's L&NWR for commercial use. Crewe Heritage Centre is the town's museum and while much of the town's history is inextricably intertwined with railway history there are more than just railway artefacts on show in the museum and it is wrong that these items should be subjected to the dirt and grime of an industrial building. From what I've read on the forum it looks as if 2010 will be the last time that Cheshire Railway Modellers supports the museum and the show will be held elsewhere for 2011.
