Little boxes...little boxes.

Shifting containers, one of the things that rail does supremely well (most of the time).

The controls on this 1980s machine look like something from a 1960s space sci-fi show

I loved that interior when they were new ,as someone who drove and still do Austin Rover's 80s MGs with all red and grey interiors the 60s just seemed like a railway version of them

Having had a solid diet of GM locos for the last year the 60 was a welcome change today! My driver was happy with it too. Properly built, and as you say the interior is a nice throwback, as well as being quiet and comfortable too

I'd have preferred to have framed this slightly differently, but unfortunately there were lots of crowd control barriers in the way at the time of my visit - it was during the Cheltenham Festival.

Still, it's a splendid statue IMHO and far more imposing than the statue of Sir Nigel Gresley at Kings Cross.

Those wagons look like they're made of some kind of fabric in a metal framework!

The wagons were well battered, I guess after a few years of regular (ab)use on the scrap metal circuit.

The lowish angle and direction of the sun light has also helped to emphasise the deformation and rust, of course.

I am not sure how 'creative' this photo of Dad's is, but it is fairly atmospheric. I found it among non-railway photos, while having a sort out. I don't think that I have come across it in Dad's albums or uploaded before. It is at the north end of the up platform at Highbridge, with its distinctive signals. I think it is of a Hall, but the medium-sized GWR 4-6-0s are a bit too similar for me.

The first station at Hebden Bridge opened on the 5th October 1840, although the current buildings date from 1893, with the pseudo Lancashire and Yorkshire style signage added as part of a renovation in 1997.

A new chapter for rolling stock along the former L&Y began on 21st October 2019 as Northern class 195 units commenced passenger service on services between Leeds and Chester.

Reading's over-bridge- Perhaps a bit too arty for here - but I am fascinated by the shapes with the added interest of being on the move at the same time. Mind you the ground level scope for photography has been significantly 'b'ed up by the heavy duty wiring.
