eastwestdivide
Creative captions - that's a whole new direction. Took me a few minutes to work it out. Next stop Reading West. Not many people realise that the station name is a Victorian mis-spelling of the local underwear factory, Reading Vests, who used to make special vests for keeping your shoulders warm while reading in bed. 1

Rugd1022
Lovely shots Russ, very nice . Rounding up some of my older shots from the hard drive, having trouble remembering what I've posted and in which threads...! 9 1
RMweb Premium Ian J. Posted February 10, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 10, 2020 Very nice shots there. However, I tend to think it's better to drip feed a shot or two per post, over a period of days, than just to batch them all up in one post.

pH
I was playing around in Picasa with a photo I took this morning, tried this effect, which I've never used before, and liked it: Two Canadian National SD60s, #5432 leading, on a ballast train in Burnaby. From the fill on the left in the picture, which continued on the other side of the level crossing behind me, it looks as if they may be putting in a siding here.

To add some context, the image was taken at Barnetby on 23rd December 2015, which was the last day of operation for the semaphore signals in this part of Lincolnshire. Steadfast
One I took the other night whilst walking back to the cabin. The colours and the visible moon really stood out to me. Red lights at night, signalman's delight by Steadfast Fotography, on Flickr Signalman is happy because no one is asking for a shunt! All quiet at Westbury as the sun sets, W704 is at danger and 66097 is tucked up for the night. With the lack of aircraft flying due to the coronavirus restrictions, the sky is lovely and clear. Peter Kazmierczak
We don't seem to have had any photos recently in this thread. Understandably perhaps, due to travel restrictions. Here's a shot from Castle Cary as an IET heads for Paddington; taken last December before Lockdown 3. Not all that creative, but there you go...

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted January 31, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 31, 2021 It's almost exactly a year since I last had the opportunity to go on an arranged photoshoot - 2nd February 2020 at the East Lancashire Railway - but, keeping a positive frame of mind, there should be an opportunity or two later this year to look forward to. So looking back through the images from some of the others that I've been on over the last few years, here's a shed view at Didcot Railway Centre taken on 18th November 2017.
