I still think it would make a good RMWeb day out... what's the station cafe like? :D

I quite forgot, I went to Plattling in May this year (regularish work trip to Munich) and the station Cafes is rather good.  I had a nice lunch there.  The weather was dreadful though, cold and pouring rain.  I must look out the photos I took when I was there...

New trackwork in evidence.  Note all the shunters lined up on the right, this Saturday morning.

Looks good doesn’t it. I actually watched their Pway on both separate possessions, disconnecting the point equipment, ripping out both old sets, grading the sub base, compacting, installing the new S&C and then ballasting up.

This my favourite webcam. I’ve been following it for a few years. Really must go there one of these days....when we are allowed to do so. But soooooo wish that someone would put in the same style cameras at Hamburg Harburg, nothing compares to that location for volume of freight.

Blimey time really does fly. Which reminds me of the old joke.

“Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana” ……

Plattling this morning. It looks so beautiful in the snow.

Indeed... I can't believe it's been two and a half years since I was in Plattling.  That was the last time I went to Germany in fact.  So much has changed since then, and not for the better.

Anyway, here's a couple of shots I took that day.  The weather was awful - freezing cold and heavy rain.  I had to shelter in the station cafe a lot...

wow, 11 years I have been looking at Plattling webcam! My old username is motorcycle (couldn't remember my old password) and it's a shame that none of my screenshots from those years have survived. You really need to back up all your important digital stuff in more than one place!

It would be so great if Olten webcam would work again though. Think I will go on holiday to Olten in the summer and watch trains there :)

I can't believe it's been 11 years since I started watching, and 10 years since I visited:

Look on the middle platform, blooming hot day that was! That followed a night of rummaging through the plant pots at the adjacent hotel door at 1am in the morning... don't ask!

It's a real shame that the cam isn't visible at night any more, when it was black and white at night things were viewable, now most of the cam is dark and the trains are just a blur! It's slightly better when there's a full covering of snow though mind...
