RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted February 2, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 2, 2013 Are those Scharfenberg couplings on the 290? Whatever they are are, are they for shunting around the 406 sets? This shot of the 290 brings back nice memories, as the Roco 290 was the first 'foreign' loco that I ever bought and couldn't believe the running quality compared to the UK stuff at the time! llamafish
It's an auto coupler, so they don't have to get out of the cab whilst shunting.
woodenhead
Snow today at Plattling, there's a little plough thingy out on the platforms clearing the snow from the edges.
motorcycle
There's currently a 421 in the sidings to the left of the screen, rare in Plattling, though it's been in Regensburg a bit lately http://der-regensburger.beepworld.de/regensburg-022013.htm
llamafish
For those that haven't been on the cam of late, it's been updated, and is now pretty much live streaming; much smoother than before.
yorkie_pudd
Cheers llama as not looked much lately with using a dongle, and way much better streaming makes it more enjoyable. Which like in the pic more to watch and like when busy as this at Plattling.
Endeavour
Hi Folks. I wonder if anyone could help me please? Does the webcam at Plattling have sound? I've made sure that the mute button is'nt on and the sound is turned up but sadly i cannot hear anything. Regards~Endeavour.

motorcycle
It's quite rare I see a freight come from the top-left corner of the webcam (the line to Landshut) my Schweers + Wall atlas says there is a BMW plant near Dingolfing, so maybe this came from there? I can't make out what the containers say.
medium61
Hello everyone, Seems that 'Railjet' trains have been diverted from 'Vienna - Munich', they now operate via 'Passau-Plattling-Munich' (you can see some of them 25-28 minutes pass the odd hours as they go through 'Plattling', thought perhaps you would like to know! medium61
Hello everbody, Well, it seems that 'Railject' also travel via Plattling in the opposite direction to Munich, as well, usually about 10 minutes to the 'even' hour. I travelled on this service from Vienna to Munich (via Saltzburg) in February (very comfortable), so I suppose it's because of the flooding (or Engineering, there was a lot going on when I travelled), At least they seek alternative routes, rather than as as in the UK it would be 'Bus replacement' and be cramped and take 10 hours longer!!!!!!!! burgundy
The lights seem to have gone out in Plattling. For those needing a fix, try this one as an alternative. Best wishes Eric
llamafish
Hmm, yes, my cam is stuck at 03:33. Hope they fix it soon, the cams seem to be declining at the moment, first St. Polten, then Olten's was moved and is now awful, then the Railcam at Mierlo... Mike at C&M
Some of the other webcams on the webcam.deg.net website are also experiencing a few problems. It could be the excessive heat! The one in the centre of Deggendorf is currently showing 44 degrees Centigrade! Quite a difference to the cold weather and floods of just a couple of weeks ago. Shame about Railcam.nl For those not in the know, there was a fire at the property which caused serious damage. In time, they hope to resume service, but it will take quite a while
Mike at C&M
The archive pictures which take a snapshot every 15 minutes are all there. Currently 45 degrees Centigrade!
llamafish
I remember in previous years the heat did seem to cause problems, became even slower and more jumpy! Then again, the heat caused problems when I was there, we were told not to sit down, and told we couldn't drink on the end of the platform, which in that heat was quite ridiculous! llamafish
What is either a DB 140 or 151 parked up on a rake of cartics in the yard. Noticed two units serving the Waldbahn in a white, blue and red scheme, is this a new livery, new operator or hire-ins?
