Adam
Assuming, that is, that the photos come out OK. Hornby Magazine came calling back in August - the results, so I see from the new December issue - will appear in January. These photos aren’t from that session (I hope they're rather better!) but are culled from various running sessions and the layout’s recent appearance at the Yeovilton show. 7APT7
Hi Matey Excellent layout, Do you have a Track Plan of the Layout...? What size is the Layout...? Keep the photos coming.... The Layout looks like one I will keep my eye on for its progress...! Regards Jamie
Adam
Hi Jamie The layout is hardly in its first flush of youth: it's the better part of thirty years old in places! It has recently undergone an extensive scenic revamp which has included actually finishing the signalling. Rather embarrassingly, the Junction bracket for the main junction was misplaced before the show and has only reappeared now the replacement has been produced... I don't have track plan to hand (dad is preparing one for the magazine), but the second photo down shows the complicated end. There's another picture - which shows more of it here: http://www.ymrg.co.uk/south-junction/ It's 27' by about 10' roundy-roundy/tailchaser with a junction on a double track line with a goods loop (the line running in front of the huts) which also feeds the small yard - you should be able to work out the plan of said yard from the photos. Oringinally, there was a branch at the opposite end and, although the junction trackwork is still in place, this is modelled in a disused condition with the arm removed from the junction bracket. I hope that this makes sense. Adam
Pennine MC
South Junction [soon to be in print] 'Bout time. How long ago was it previewed in the Modeller
Adam
'Bout time. How long ago was it previewed in the Modeller I wondered if someone would remember that! I may well have been in single figures (as might the layout, come to that) at the time. No idea what happened to that 'lost in the midst of John Brewer's in tray' perhaps? One more from the operators side - never mind the backdrop... Adam
St. Simon
Hi, I remember looking at this layout for a long time at RNAS Yeovilton Show and talking to a very nice operator about diesel shunters! Superb layout! Simon
Baby Deltic
I've only just stumbled across this layout thread. Cracking layout with loads of atmosphere, and nicely weathered too.
Adam
Hi, I remember looking at this layout for a long time at RNAS Yeovilton Show and talking to a very nice operator about diesel shunters! Superb layout! Simon I may dimly recall the conversation - we didn't get too many detailed convo's of that sort so it was most likely either with me or dad since we built 'em. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the compliments. Adam

Adam
A quick bump based on the fact that I saw a rather nice shot in the back of the latest edition of Hornby Magazine with SJ among the 'forthcoming attractions'. Unabashed self-interest being what it is, here's one more, a frieght working wrong line through South Junction. I must add a lamp to that brake tender...
