brian777999
Has anybody built either of these O gauge locomotive kits ? I am interested in these because they are complete with wheels, motor and gearbox.... nothing else to buy. http://www.acmemodels.co.uk/OGCat54XXPanier.htm http://www.acmemodels.co.uk/OGCatMetro.htm They seem like an ideal first kit for somebody who has never built a locomotive. Any opinions on this point would be welcome.
Kenton
I haven't built either of them. I gave the metro a long close look when I was looking for a good starter in 7mm (biased by the fact I like metros) but I was pulled more towards the Agenoria range of kits - which I would recommend. Ohmisterporter
The description in the ACME kit states driving wheel diameter as 7 feet. I think 5 feet is nearer the mark. Just so you don't go out and buy bits prior to starting. Geoff.
Ressaldar
Hi Brian, I would go along with Kenton's 'Agenoria' suggestion, the kits are very good, well thought out and Pete Stamper is only too willing to help out if you need it, but his instructions are also very good and easy to follow. Pete also supplies the kits with wheels and motor/gearboxes - and to the correct size! 'A couple I made earlier' regards Mike
