kintbury jon Posted August 29, 2010 Share Posted August 29, 2010 Afternoon all, Via the forum, i've acquired a nice rake of Replica Mark 1's in the Intercity Charter livery with white rooves. The rake consists of 3 FO's, an RBR and a BCK. I remember the stock being used on premier charter services. I reckon I could probably do with a couple more to make a long enough train, but would like to know whether I could do with two FO's or a FO and a BCK (or something else!) I have a Hornby mark 2 that has been painted nicely in Intercity livery, i've got a recollection that the odd one was included in these rakes - complete with white roof. Jon Yes, another RBR as each one was serving 2 or 3 FOs. Brake in the middle efectivly making 2 half sets. The BCKs had some compartments converted to sleeping accomodation. The BCK has a flashing tail light powered by two batteries, it would be a waste to form it in the middle of the train! Ed - it does look like Blaenau. First the original rake, FO, RBR, FO, FO, BCK The Hornby BFK prior to repainting. I picked this up off ebay for a few quid and was quite pleased with the paintjob on it. The roof painted and inserted into the rake. I'm quite pleased with the outcome, it's amazing how the white roof brightens up the appearance of the carriage. The first class compartments have single berths in them, the second class compos had a set of bunk beds. The vestibule between the first class and the guards compo had the doors removed and plated over, and a shower installed.
