In addition to my UK layouts I do have a smaller US layout that my youngest occasionally takes interest in doing. So we do have some US engines, when scaletrains.com announced a Rivet Counter N Scale GE Tier 4 GEVo ET44 we were very interested. As much as we liked some of the US road names the CN livery just looked really good. So we purchased one. Oh my is it good.

Here it is sitting on my TMD diorama

  • RMweb Gold

Picked up two of those, one UP and the other NS (my other halfs purchase as she is tepmted by anything NS), at the Kansas City Convention just over a week ago. They look stunning.

As we only arrived home yesyterday I am yet to test them on DC but hope to today. The Next18 decoders (non sound) are hard to find but two are on their way from YouChoose here in the UK.

Brilliant day here in New Hampshire. So set a table up and had a good out side photo shoot with Woodland Heath TMD.  53 Pictures to sort through and stack, bet here is what we looked like.

In todays episode of how not to build a model train layout. Decided to install the ID backscene that arrived, however in yesterdays pictures the horizon line feels like it sits too high. So out came the supports for it and we prepped for installation with it siting lower. Been a longtime since the layout has had this much change. Looks naked with no back drop.

Managed to remove the supports for the backdrop with minimal damage to the rest of the layout, but it does answer the question. Should the backscene be done first? yes, yes it should.
