Gloucester Road
After taking on fuel 37409 was immediately pressed into service. It was hired in to cover for a failed 57 that was on PCAs. Travelling out of Crossland station And then onwards to its final destination.
Gloucester Road
Ew&S class 37 has been through the works and fitted with plows and pipes from 37409. Before After Looks like some real world dust needs to be addressed. Stephen
RMweb Premium Grafarman Posted February 4, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 4, 2015 That is one filthy tractor, but looking good with the details on...agree about the dust; I had to put up covers on Prestatyn to maintain some sort of dust barrier, but it still gets in! Gloucester Road
Work on the layout has come to halt, trains get run every once and awhile but this winter has taken its toll. We have 5+ft of snow on the ground, so much that my 8 yearold dug down to the grass and then vanished, he was standing and we couldnt see him. shoveled 4.5 ft of snow of the roof to get rid of all the weight. And its still coming, our driveway is 550ft long and yes the the tractor does a nice job but im running out of places I can put it, the bank at the both ends is so high the tractor cant top it. One can walk onto the deck over the railings and then down to get into the door. looking forward to complaining about summer heat.
Gloucester Road
Fed up with Dapol. My brand new Arriva 67 just went pop, class 220 lights stopped working and and runs in one direction. They will join my class 153 headed to DCC supplies for repair.
Gloucester Road
Spent today redoing/touching up scenic areas. There are areas of static grass that are 3 years old and were looking a little worn so more static and grass was sprinkled and areas start to look fresh and new. Some ballast and track was also coming up so fresh ballast was deposited and glued. Generally a layout maintenance/sprucing up day.
Gloucester Road
During layout renewal today 70006 was seen passing through Crosslands. There was a rumble as it went by Then from the otherside of Station Lane Stephen

Gloucester Road
Bit more train spotting this evening. 66610 was seen slowly passing Milford Sand Gravel and Cement . I then managed to find a roof top vantage point that had me level with the the main line. I was rewarded with very dirty silver bullets rolling by.
Gloucester Road
Just in time for spring, 37409 visited the fitters to have its' plows fitted. I managed to catch it leaving the siding once it had an open road. Once in the fitters we investigated how to put on the plows, pipping and hook. An issue became apparent, I could not figure how to fit the plows, pipes, hook as they were intended. The plows hook over the usual n scale coupler, with this removed i could see no way to attach them. I wanted this removed so i could put on the hook and chain. So I cut up the three piece plow and decided to install them as 3 separate pieces; this proved an issue too. Pipes were installed, hook and coupler were put on, plows mounted to front of bogies. With them on the bogies the angle might not be quiet right but it works; the bigger issue is now the NEM pocket is in the way for the centre plow. I dont want to remove the NEM pocket so for the time being no centre plow, next up some light weathering. Having had its plows put on it was spotted outside on the storage road 37409 was pressed into service and was captured on the head shunt It then moved onto the storage siding at Milford Sand Gravel and Cement waiting for EWS branded class 08 to finish shunting some PCAs for the outbound train. Next up some weathering . Stephen

Gloucester Road
Thanks for comment. Found 2 slides from the hay day of NSE Also spent time today messing around with Adobe Audition makeing up some generic ambiant sound to play during operating sessions, birds, talking, vehicles, trains announcements and such. Have a 15 minute loop that provides a bit of atmosphere. Stephen
Gloucester Road
After yesterdays vintage colour, managed to find some more colour. Lots of green and blue in modern guise. Stephen
Gloucester Road
Just a bit of fun. "Took out the remote control helicopter and took it for a flight over Gloucester Road. It has about 8 mins of recording time; as it was my first time flying it the camera work and stability is a bit dodgy. I suggest not drinking while watching!" Been experimenting with sounds in Adobe Auditions. The sound plays during my operating sessions just for a bit of atmosphere, its 15 minutes long and plays on a loop. stephen

Gloucester Road
So while RMweb was off I nipped down to Crossland Station while there 57003 was sitting quietly behind the station waiting for entry into the power plant. I then found a path down the back of the station that got me up close. Then I headed to the other side of the platform and waited for the Arriva arrival. I had heard that an interesting working had been substituted for the failed Arriva set. 67027 was on the front 2 NSE coaches and 47474 was on the back! It was indeed an interesting mash up. Gloucester Road
A brace of class 57s at Crossland Station. Looking a bit like they are under starter orders 57003 comes off the line to the power palnt and 57309 heads south with spent ballast.
