Gloucester Road
September seems to be tree planting month on Gloucester Road. Entry 703 back in September 2015 shows how I make my bigger trees, today I modified the process a bit. Start of with the base woodland scenic tree. Which when twisted gives you this. This time I wanted a twisted trunk (inspired by an image in Sept Model Rail), so I cut off some of the branches, twisted the main trunk and glued some of the branches back on. I used a hot glue gun as PVA didnt seem to hold. I then made up a batch of plaster and lathered it on the trunk and branches. When dry, I used my wife's dehydrator, then carve the bark into the plaster. Spray paint with your base colour, wash with burnt sienna and black paint and weather with powders. ( I cracked the base off to early in this shot) I then teased, cut and glued Silflor Miniatur Beech tree summer leaves into places. I really like this product, it gives an airy and leafy impression. You can see I've planted the tree back in a temporary base, the plug is still there ready to aid in the final planting. Just need to spray it down with a bit of dulcote to take some more shine down. Then a place has been selected for planting, but some road works need to happen first; maybe tomorrow. For those of you wondering how far you can fly a King Air in seven days; this is what my last seven days of flying looked like. Removed a/c
Nice job with the tree. I can't say I have ever had much luck with the Woodland scenic trees. I may give your approach a try though.

Gloucester Road
Had a few moments to myself this morning, so I set to and finished off the scalescene shops. Than had a look at Loftus Road and decided that I could detail some store fronts, so guttering, down pipes, CCTV cameras, satellite dishes and other boxes were added. I think this adds just a bit more modern feel to the layout. So the other finished buildings might get the same treatment. Stephen
Gloucester Road
The pub and shops next door received a similar treatment. Stephen

Gloucester Road
https://railnscale.com/modern-vehicles-british-n/ Interesting collection of vehicles, both in 1:148 and 1:160. Some of these are heading towards Gloucester Road.
Gloucester Road
Houses next door had a visit by some contractors and had guttering installed. A satellite tv company arrived and installed a dish; correctly this time hopefully. Flower boxes appeared in an effort to beautify the street. Now if we could just get the builders to finish next door maybe all the properties would sell. stephen
Gloucester Road
Local gardening society arrived today and got a lot of work done. Walls and ornate top installed, pond, paths, grass, plants and flowers all put in today. Trees were brought in to add a bit of drama to the scene, as were a local couple! This side of the layout is all but complete. Some buses, shelter for the bus stop and some railings to protect walkers from the roads and it should be done. Gloucester Road
As I said in post 817 some vehicles from Shapeways have arrived. Very nice prints, will need to be cleaned, primed and painted; might take awhile but should look good. 2x range rover, mercedes van mercedes loader lorry, 2 club lorries (one with a crane) Then these beauties from Revolution Trains, stunning. I am so impressed with these TEAs, major mfgrs need to take note. N has taken a huge step forward. stephen

Gloucester Road
Mercedes 207 van came out of the paint shop today. I wanted it to look a bit used hence the odd paint patch on one of the paint panels. Not to bad from regular viewing distance. Next up is a Ranger Rover, which is waiting for the primer to dry. stephen Edited October 30, 2016 by Gloucester Road
